Changing Jobs – Leveraging your Skills and Knowledge in Alberta’s CCUS Sector

As Alberta implements strategies and technologies to reach its GHG emissions reduction goals, the province will continue to deliver responsibly produced Canadian energy to global markets– including energy technologies, types and sources like oil and gas, renewables, hydrogen, liquefied natural gas (LNG) and carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS). Technologies like CCUS will also play a key role in Alberta’s emissions reduction efforts. Alberta’s evolving CCUS sector needs innovative and dedicated workers to ensure its success – in fact, because of its skilled energy workers, Alberta already has what it takes to be a global leader in this growing sector. Carbon Management Canada will speak to the Calgary Catholic Immigration Society and Careers in Energy to explore the knowledge and skills that Alberta oil and gas workers have in order to make a successful career change into CCUS. As Alberta’s 22 proposed CCUS storage hubs develop into commercial projects, a variety of workers will be needed to fill roles for every skillset and interest. Learn about the opportunities, access to resources, and what steps you can take to make a career change into CCUS.

This webinar is the fourth in a five-part series exploring Alberta’s world-class growing CCUS sector, including the jobs, technology, opportunities, challenges, and the impact it can have on global GHG emissions reduction.

The Province of Alberta is working in partnership with the Government of Canada to provide employment support programs and services.
